Just some random stuff

My first week at Targhee was very adventurous first I found out that we have some little flowers called Leafy Geraniuns, I wonder if anyone will notice that there are not very many any more since I thought they were weeds and pulled them. I think I can hide that problem But the Linen closet I flooded last Sat I couldn't hide. Evidently I didn't shut of one of the faucets tight enough. But I still have a job so no worries. I ran 12 miles this morning. It wasn't as great of a run as I have had lately. I didn't start running till 8:15, huge mistake it got way to hot way to soon. I am pretty sore and tired right now. I was supposed to go play softball tonight but I couldn't make my self even get off the bench so I came home early and soaked in my sister jetted tub. It was all going well until I realized that I had put to much soap in the water. The suds went all the way to the top. I had to end my soak early so I didn't have a Lucille Ball moment.

New Job

Yesterday I started my new job. I am working at Grand Targhee on the grounds crew. I am in charge of watering and mowing lawns and planting, weeding, watering the flower beds. I will work 3 ten hour days. One of the guys that works in the Trap Bar stopped and talked to me and said I have the best job at the resort. I agree, I get to work outside all day in one of the prettiest places in Idaho. It is actually Wyoming but to me it is still Idaho. When I got home from work I was so tired and sore ( I think the soreness was actually from a yoga class I went to while I was in Utah on thursday). This morning when I woke up I looked at the clock and it said 11:00am. I have never slept in till 11:00am. It felt so good. Hopefully I will get used to working 3 ten hour days in a row.

Two Cuties

We flood errigate our lawn at my parents house. It is perfect for the kids to go out and play in the water. Andrew decided to have a car wash.

I woke up one morning and went to check up on Lindsey and this is how I found her.

Playing with niece and nephew

I had another great weekend playing with my niece and nephew. We went to a new really cool park in Idaho Falls, and they went on some of the rides in the fun land.

Teton Dam 26.2 mile relay race

Last Saturday I ran in the Teton Dam 26.2 mile relay race in Rexburg. Here are my team mates. It was a lucky day to begin with. We got assigned number 11 at our team number. 11 is my favorite number. This in now the third race bib I have with the number 11. It was a really fun race and I definatly would do another relay race. It was just fun. Even though we were not running together at the same time, we were still a team. Not sure yet what the results are yet of the race, but we all did better than we thought we were each expecting. I ran about a 10 minuet mile, running 4 1/2 miles in about 40 minuets.

As I was ending my run, I went to pass of the braclet to the next runner. I slapped it on her wrist (the kind that curl around your wrist). I guess the runners little girl thought I slapped her mommy. And she started to cry. About a 1/2 hour later the little girl asked me "why did you slap my mommy?"

I also entered the Logan Top of Utah Marathon. It is on Sept 20,2008. This relay race got me really excited for the marathon. I have been training for about 2 months now. At first I signed up for the St. George Marathon. I signed up with a team of 4. They let 7,000 runners in the race. Over 10,000 signed up for it this year. It almost made me cry because I love the St. George Marathon. But Logan is a good one also.

Another embarrassing moment

Over the memorial day weekend I went to "Horton hears a who", with my sister and her kids. Thats not the embarrassing part. The next day my friend asked me what I did for memorial day. I had a tonge twisting moment and said "I saw Hooton hears a whore". I know you are all saying, "It doesn't take much for Ann to get emarrassed". But when you are in the Temple, with a bunch of temple workers around, it is embarrassing! What a way to make a G-rated film sound R-rated. Try saying Horton Hears a Who three times really fast. But be very careful where you are at.

Hiking Targhee

Monday I was visiting my sister. I could see that there was still plenty of snow on Targhee. Luckily I just happened to have my skii's, skin's and boot's handy. So I drove up to Targhee, straped on the skin's to my skii's and hiked up. Us tele skiier's have another saying that "skiing is an up hill sport", "earn your turns". I earned every turn that day. It was beautiful and the skiing was............ considering it was spring skiing, great! My only regret was forgetting the camera. But hopefully I will get to do it again. They say that there could be skiing up there till July.
