Telemark VS Alpine skiing

Do I even need to ask?

Unlike telemark skiing your heels are fixed and can't move when you are alpine skiing. Us tele skiiers have a saying "free your heels and your mind will follow". So here is a video of me skiing with a "closed mind".

I cried.....................

I cry the day they shut down the lifts, I wished it could be winter all year long.

If you were to sing those words to michael mclains christmas song, you would cry to.

Here is a few clips in memory of a great season.

These are from our last day rippin it up.

Bitter Sweet

Today was my last day at the resort. It closed yesterday, but they opened today for employe day. I am very sad and happy at the same time. I am going to miss teaching, the people and the skiing.

All season I have been working on this trick and today I finally did it.

Skiing with friends

Telemark skiing with Melissa and Chad, on Friday April 11th. The snow was still great.

Turning a lemon into lemonaide

I found out that my hours have been cut back to one day (Saturdays) a week during the month of april at my job in Idaho Falls. At first I wanted to run away to Mexico from my problems and sit on the beach sipping on margaritas. But since I don't have the money or a passport I opted to stay in Driggs all week and take advantage of the last week of skiing at the resort, sipping on gatorade since I don't drink. I had lessons on Saturday (taught Andrew) and Monday, free skiied on Tues, took my nephew again on Wed, taught my 32 year old sister to ski today and get to ski with my Tele ski buddy tomarrow. Then on Monday is employee day. They open the resort to employee's and a guest. I will be praying for more snow. Annie and Andrew

Carma's first ride on the chair lift since the ride she took up at Kelly Canyon when she didn't know how to get off and ended up having to ride the lift back down to the bottom. She made it this time with out a problem. Way to go Carma!

Catching up

This post is a mix of the last month

Spring? yeah right!

You would think that this picture was taken a couple of months ago. But it was actually taken today April 7th. And you thought is was spring.
Riding up the lift last Sat.

Two cuties in a basket.

Hard at play, I mean work.
For all of you that wonder if I actually work up here. Here is a few pictures with some of my students.

Isn't she absolutely adorable? (I'm talking about the little girl :)

Hiking Mary's and Peaked Mountain
About two months ago I went to work and there was no lessons for some of the instuctors including me. So we decided to climb Mary's and Peaked. It was beautiful. Once we got to the top we skiied down "Reliable" which is a double black diamond, meaning very difficult experts only. Don't get the wrong idea, I took the easiest way down and it wasn't pretty but I did it.

Skiing with Andrew

Last Sat after my lessons my sister brought my nephew Andrew and I gave him his first lesson. He really had a fun time and didn't want to quit. I get to take him skiing this Wed. I hope to get him on the Shoshone lift.

Still Shots

Last Fri I was skiing with some friends. As you can tell there is still plenty of snow. Yesterday was the best, 6-8inches of fresh sick pow.
