Tis the Season

I thought I would post a video of my Tele turns from last year, just to get you all excited for the up and coming season.

I cried.....................

I cry the day they shut down the lifts, I wished it could be winter all year long.

If you were to sing those words to michael mclains christmas song, you would cry to.

Last Fri I was skiing with some friends. As you can tell there is still plenty of snow. Yesterday was the best, 6-8inches of fresh sick pow.

This video is of Ashleighs boy friend going off a jump. I tried to go off the same jump. But I was going to slow. When I landed my heels flopped forward and I landed flat on my face ( yeah I was wearing my ski instructor jacket)

Saturday I had two four year old students. We did 3 runs on the bunny hill. Everything went fine. Then we went up the chair lift and got off. Again everything went fine. The first part of the run is a little steep. The little girl I had was having a bit of a struggle. So I had the girl go first so I could help her down. The boy didn't like that, he wanted to go first. But I told him I needed to help the girl. All of a sudden his Head started to hurt. And then he started to cry. I could not figure out what was wrong. I let the boy go first again. It didn't help. He kept on crying down the hill. We got to another steep part. The boy fell and wouldn't try to get up. All he could do was cry and say he wanted to go home. And then the little girl starts to cry! saying here legs hurt. I had a friend help get the boy up. She loosened his goggles, but his head still hurts. And while I am trying to get the girl to come down a snowboarder slides in to her causing her to fall down on his snowboard. Then she really started to cry, saying she wanted to go home. Finally I am able to get them back to ski school and another instructor goes to get my supervisor to figure out what to do because I am supposed to have the boy all day! They are still crying so I just sit down in the snow with the girl on my lap and the boy to my side still crying, and so I start crying! To make a somewhat long story short the two were perfectly fine when the parents came. And I am left with the emotional scars of being the instructor who sat on the snow with her crying students, crying.

So after a day like yesterday I had to go to My Happy Place, my Utopia. Click on this video and let your cares drift away. And experience Utopia yourself. It worked for me.

Ann's tele turns

This is me Telemark skiing on one of the few blue bird days at the resort. It was such a great day.
